A LITTLE BIT ABOUT NINA...
My journey to fitness started as a track and field athlete, until persistent injuries forced me to retire. But when one door closes, another one opens. That disappointment became the inspiration to coach others; to guide them in pursuing performance, aesthetics, or general health and wellness goals, so they could win the gold metal of their dream.
As my clients (and I matured), I began to understand their shifting priorities and the need to manage a complex set of competing demands. It was no longer about achieving a certain physical aesthetic or competing in a weekend race; now the challenge was to focus on making critical business or family decisions, parenting with love and patience, finding energy when physically or emotionally exhausted, as well as, dealing with their own stress or fears. And it all needed to seem completely effortless. I knew because as a single mother running my own coaching business, I faced the same uncertainty, fear and insecurity. It became apparent it was time to re-evaluate the definition of wellness, how it is measured, and its intended outcomes.
Recognizing the need to look beyond traditional training models I created the LIVE WELL 🧡 Longevity Model to provide clients the education, tools, and resources needed to have a longer more fulfilled life. This model uses the 6 pillars of movement, nourishment, recovery, health benchmarks, community, and mindset. Each pillar is an equally important component of how wellness is now defined.
PHILANTHROPY
I’m committed to helping veterans, youth, and people experiencing homelessness within Los Angeles’ underprivileged and underserved communities and beyond. As a board member of Shoes for the Homeless Inc, I’ve assisted in the collection and distribution of over 16,000 pairs of shoes to L.A.’s neighbors in need. Through silent auctions, corporate sponsorships, and private donations, I’ve helped to raise the organization’s budget significantly to increase our impact and improve the quality of life for those in our community.
Making a difference in the lives of others inherently makes a difference in yours.
I currently reside in Los Angeles. My greatest gift, my daughter Camille, is my ultimate inspiration. When I’m not coaching, you can find me sharpening my photography skills, exploring my local farmers market, sipping coffee with a friend, or riding my bike along the beach.
