I’ve sought out the rush of competition for as long as I can remember. I wouldn’t call it a choice, but a calling. As a sprinter I loved the adrenaline I felt when the gun fired at the starting line, a rush that shaped my dream of competing at the highest level. I put my all into competing for nearly two decades before persistent injuries forced me, reluctantly, to put my ambitions aside.
My vision was reignited when a member of my gym brought the opportunity to compete in a Masters Track & Field meet, reawakening my competitive spirit at 40. Making the necessary modifications for my age, I began to manipulate the levels of strength and power used in my workouts. Rather than burning out, I dedicated myself to mobility and prioritizing the restoration my body needed after tough sessions. The elite athlete I had always been could finally chase her dreams again. However, this time with a renewed sense of purpose and a system that worked for my body and lifestyle. The same science-backed programming I used to reignite my own performance continues to influence my training philosophy today.
Functional training to increase our everyday vitality is not only possible, but essential to protecting our joints, muscles and cardiovascular system as we age. I am dedicated to evolving and perfecting my technique to share with my clients so they can avoid expensive and time-consuming injuries and feel their best. My background and ongoing education allow me to train a diverse clientele, from people who want to be able to play with their grandchildren long into life to professional athletes seeking a performance boost.
I currently reside in Los Angeles. My greatest gift, my daughter Camille, is my ultimate inspiration. When I’m not training, you can find me sharpening my photography skills, exploring my local farmers market, sipping coffee, or riding my bike along the beach.
