My journey to fitness started as an athlete. I was born to run and competed until persistent injuries forced me to reluctantly retire. That disappointment served as my inspiration to coach others; to serve as a guide as they pursued health and wellness goals. In order to avoid injuries, I wanted my clients to have access to programming built upon science, not what was trendy. At this phase of my career, my focus was on athletic achievements, body transformations, or general health and wellness because that was where we were in our lives.
As both my clients and I matured, I began to understand better their shifting priorities and the need to manage a complex set of competing demands. It was no longer about achieving a certain physical aesthetic; now the challenge was to have laser sharp focus while making critical business or family decisions, parenting with love and patience, finding energy when physically or emotionally exhausted, as well as, dealing with their own stress or fears while assuring others everything was under control. And it all needed to seem completely effortless. For women, societal pressure is added to defy aging while maintaining unrealistic standards of beauty. Women over 50 often find themselves at the intersection of balancing a career, family, and their own sense of purpose. I know because I fought the same battle. A single mother who ran her own coaching business, I faced the same uncertainty, fear, and insecurity as my female clients.
I evolved into a longevity coach out of necessity because the industry was not adequately addressing the whole person needs of this particular demographic. I began curating programs to give my clients the education, tools, and resources needed to have a longer more fulfilled life, on their own terms. This meant looking beyond traditional strength training models and expanding the scope of what being healthy means, looks like, and how it is measured. My job is to educate and empower clients so they can live authentically - successfully. My clients know being healthy involves so much more than just the time spent in the gym.
I currently reside in Los Angeles. My greatest gift, my daughter Camille, is my ultimate inspiration. When I’m not coaching, you can find me sharpening my photography skills, exploring my local farmers market, sipping coffee with a friend, or riding my bike along the beach.
